I met Samantha Gasca last October in Manhattan, Illinois, at a political fundraiser. Present were all the top tier statewide candidates, including one for the U.S. Senate. At the time, I was managing many of these candidates as a consultant. I met a lot of candidates on the campaign trail and I learned to be an excellent judge of character. With Samantha, I was impressed. I was introduced to her by Al Kuypers who at the time was running for Illinois House.
As we were introduced, she called me “sir”. Jokingly, another candidate I was managing, Philip Nagel, said with a chuckle that there was no need to call me that because I was not much older than she was. She did not agree, expressing that it was in her nature to be respectful. I found it humbling. A form of respect that she was extending, and later I found out why.
I found out that Samantha is a born again Christian and a pastor. She preaches to the masses of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She found the Lord, and it opened her eyes to service. A native from Illinois of Hispanic heritage, she is proud of sharing her beliefs, and she makes it known that she is pro-life. Samantha is a conservative Republican with no apologies.
Samantha, is 35, is not married with any children however, she is family orientated. She loves her family and children, especially her dog that accompanies her as she canvasses to meet voters.
She studied at Illinois State recieving her Bachelors of Science and Masters. She did research at A&M University for her PHD which she left to pursue the ministry. Later, she completed her Master's at Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago for her second masters degree studying pastoral studies. She also worked on Moody radio doing data analytics.
After completing her studies, she dedicated herself to individual development by helping guide others. Presently, she consuls those in need as a counselor. She finds joy in rebuilding people's lives.
Samantha is also a life coach and motivational speaker.
So, why is Samantha running for School Board?
Like many, she just could not accept the liberal agenda forced upon our young children. When asked why she decided to run, she stated:
“I never ran for office before, but I felt the call to do so because of our children. Because as a young child I grew sexually abused so I became a child advocate and a defender of childrens rights. We have to protect the innocent from this pressed manipulation that is exposing young minds to sex at such a young age. We have to make an impact now for future generations. I also believe in parental rights. It shouldn't be the teacher raising the child, it's the parent. No teacher should have the right to direct their beliefs into our children”
I also asked Samantha what changes she would make to the district when elected. She stated: “I want to lower taxes working with my county and legislative partners. There is no reason our seniors should pay up to $10,000 a year in taxes when their children are already grown and moved on. This tax revenue doesn't go to the classrooms but needless spending and administrative overhead. I will also revamp our education curriculum. It's time our students graduate at their grade reading level and are much more prepared for college and the workforce. I also will propose trade schools”
Samantha may be new to politics, but make no mistake, she is going to shake things up for the better. She doesn't want to be more of the same. Samantha wants to revamp the district's education policy so the parents have more of a voice and input. Her goal is to institute cost savings while cutting taxes. Currently, 80-year-old seniors are driving Ubers just to make money outside their retirement or social security to save their homes or just to eat.
This is why Samatha is running. For those who have no voices in government.
On April 4th, I recommend you vote for Samantha Gasca for genuine change. She is a humble servant, but she will fight for parents, children, and seniors.

Why am I running? Simple. The call of the Lord.
After Roe versus Wade was overturned, I was overcome with joy, because I was so happy that the Lord had decided to save so many lives. This compelled me to attend a local Republican meeting, after which I was asked by a county board member to consider running for school board. I told him that I wasn’t looking to run, but I would pray about it. I prayed for three days, during which I felt compelled by the Lord to run. On the third day, I felt like the Lord had said, “Why not? If it’s my will, you’ll get in m; if it’s not my will, you won’t. Either way, you’re in my will.” And then I felt total peace, as I knew that no matter what, I’d be serving the Lord I’m the exact way He would have me serve Him. So whether I win or whether I lose, it doesn't matter to me, as it is well with my soul.
Looking a little further back into my motivation for running for school board, I grew up in a home where I was severely abused. This motivated me eventually to become an advocate for the underdog. This specifically took me to the area of working with children who are experiencing similar things to what I had experienced. At one point, I worked with sex trafficked children; however, I am now a pastoral counselor working with children and adults. As well, I work with children in ministry and non-ministry volunteer/mentoring settings.
