John Booras: Referendum To Recall Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
If you are a Chicago police officer, family, or friend of a police officer, Conservative, or a concerned voter in Chicago, we have to push this recall agenda for Chicago families. We can and must help distribute and collect signatures to recall Mayor Brandon Johnson.
In his short tenure, Johnson has shown that he is incapable of helping Chicago thrive and is already considered a worse choice than Lori Lightfoot. This will be a chance to finally wrestle control of the city back from CTU, the corrupt teacher's union that now calls the shots through Johnson…whom they own and pay for.
Under his "leadership," the mayor is spending $70 million a month on illegal immigrants. The latest handout to these immigrants will be FREE vehicles. We currently have thousands of homeless citizens in Chicago that are being turned away from their food and housing needs under his “Illegals only” policy. Johnson's mess is also affecting single parents in Chicago. Many of their beneficial programs are getting cut, including HUD, Section 8 Housing, and Medicare.
People have never felt less safe on our streets. Crime is up by 300%. Police Officers are getting shot and killed. In less than one year, 18% of businesses have fled the city. Most big-box stores like Walmart, Target, and Aldi have closed because of constant unprosecuted shoplifting. Johnson has offered the excuse that these criminals come from broken homes, yet completely denies their innate ability to be good and law-abiding citizens under the right leadership. Meanwhile, smash and grabs are causing corner stores to close and depriving senior citizens of the ability to shop for food or even get their medications. Now families have to take public transportation 40 minutes away to buy affordable groceries.
Crimes, such as carjacking, are on the rise in Chicago. Just this morning, a 30-year-old Chicago law enforcement officer was murdered and shot 17 times in what was identified as a carjacking or possible retaliation killing. A few weeks ago, another major police shooting occurred and was all over the news. Enough is enough. If they can do this to our brave police, what will they do to our families?
In another recent incident, four innocent children were shot, and a fifth is dying as we speak. Government employees, such as postal workers, are being robbed, and there is no plan in sight to stop the violence.
The Chicago Police Department is at least 1,000 officers short, staffed, with another 500, leaving soon because of early retirement and those actively seeking other employment. There is no plan to hire more officers to fill the gap. This means the Chicago police pension fund will collapse soon, further driving the city into bankruptcy.
Because of Mayor Johnson's mismanagement, the city will be in the red without the necessary revenue to operate effectively…all while this country is in a recession. The city continues to punish residents by raising taxes on everything from soda and bottled water to trash bags. What's next…the air we breathe? These taxes disproportionately affect lower income residents, as they do not have the means to avoid them. We must put an end to Johnson's constant crusade against Chicago's poor!
It's time for new leadership and a new mayor. As a candidate for Congress representing Chicago, I believe this action is imperative to move Chicago in a direction that benefits our citizens and their families. We must do this for a stronger and more responsible Chicago, answering only to the people… and not dishonest government and politicians like Brandon Johnson.
More information on this recall and petition instructions to come soon. Stay tuned!
